I need help.
I've decided to train for a 5k (just as soon as I get some better shoes; knees = ouch!). However, I've been listening to the same 'workout' playlist on my ipod for the better part of six months. While Justin Timberlake never fails to get my blood pumpin', I'm really starting to regret stealing 'Boombastic' by Shaggy from brother in law. (I also regret admitting that!)
Here's what I got so far -
"Woke Up This Mornin'" - from the Soprano's soundtrack
"SexyBack" - Justing Timberlake
"Move Along" - All American Rejects
"SOS" - Rhianna
"Run It"- Chris Brown
"Check On It" - Beyonce and Slim Thug
"Shut Up" - Black Eyed Peas
"Give Me My Auger Back" - Fatboy Slim
"Rockafella Skank" - Fatboy Slim
"Hey Ya" - OutKast
"Since You Been Gone" - Kelly Clarkson
I need something new. It doesn't need to be pretty or hip. It just needs to keep my butt moving long enough to sweat out all those Girl Scout Cookies.
Ideas?

...and if you'd like music that actually exists anywhere near the mainstream:
One Angry Dwarf... - Ben Folds Five
Ring The Alarm - Beyonce
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Do Somethin' or Toxic - Britney Spears (I know... but it works!)
Fix You - Coldplay
Take It Off - The Donnas
Fully Alive - Flyleaf
Wind It Up - Gwen Stefani
Dirt Of Your Shoulder - Jay-Z (if you can handle all the n-word dropping)
Jesus Walks and Touch The Sky - Kanye West
Open Toes - Katharine McPhee
LDN - Lily Allen
Helena - My Chemical Romance
U & Ur Hand - Pink
The National Anthem - Radiohead
Lights And Sounds - Yellowcard
Basically anything by Fall Out Boy (but especially "I Slept With Someone..." and "This Ain't A Scene...")
At least, these get 'er done for me. Any of these tracks should be on iTunes, or the average downloading method of your choice. There's some serious diversity, but... hey, whatever gets your blood movin' and your ass shakin'!
And seriously, way to go on the 5K!
I got nothin'. I think I spend more time scrolling through songs while working out than actually listening to the music. Which is a special skill in itself.
Songs that work for me:
Foo Fighers - DOA, Times Like These, Cold Day in the Sun, My Hero, All My Life, The Last Song, The Best of You, and of course Everlong
Kanye West - Touch the Sky
Joan Jett - I Hate Myself for Loving You
Tom Petty - You Wreck Me, American Girl, Runnin Down a Dream
Earth Wind & Fire - September
Peaches & Herb - Shake Your Groove Thing
(I don't know who sings this) - Disco Inferno
Will Smith - Switch
Pussy Cat Dolls - Right Now
Rob Thomas - This is how a heart breaks.
Nerdy, perhaps some are, but they keep my butt moving on the treadmill. Another suggestion is to arrive at the gym in time to be distracted while running during the first episode of Saved by the Bell on TBS, then cooling down during the second episode.
Actually, come to think, I'm with Nathan on this one. I didn't get my iPod 'til after I did the half-marathon. I did most of my training in the gym watching CNN headline news. My daily hours of Miss MN weight-lifting, too. It's all about whatever distracts you from your muscular pain. Do what feels good. And by that, I don't mean skipping the workout.
Did I mention your awesomeness?
